This page explains which cookies youngtrader.co.ke uses, why, and how you stay in control of them. Analytics cookies are only used if you say yes.
At a glance
The essentials
- Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. They are always on.
- Google Analytics (statistics) only loads after you click Accept. If you decline, it does not run.
- We do not use advertising, tracking pixels or marketing cookies.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the button below or the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how youngtrader.co.ke, operated by Paul Ngugi (KD) in Naivasha, Kenya, uses cookies and similar technologies. It forms part of our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow a site to remember information between pages or visits. Some are essential for a site to work; others, such as analytics cookies, are optional.
3. Cookies we use
We keep cookies to a minimum. The table below lists every cookie a visitor may receive on this site.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Category | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Names beginning with cmplz_ | youngtrader.co.ke | Remember your cookie choice so we do not ask on every page | Essential | 365 days |
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another, without identifying you by name | Statistics (consent only) | 2 years |
_ga_YP16C41SGR | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your visit session | Statistics (consent only) | 2 years |
If you log in to manage the website (only the site administrator does this), WordPress also sets its own login and security cookies, with names beginning with wordpress_ and wp-. Visitors do not receive them.
4. How consent works
- On your first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Until you click Accept, Google Analytics is blocked and does not load.
- If you click Decline, only essential cookies are used, and the site works fully.
- Preferences lets you turn statistics on or off individually.
- If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of optional cookies.
- We ask again after 365 days, or sooner if this policy changes in a way that affects your choice.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link, which also appears in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect use that took place before.
5. Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the site is used: for example, which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located (country or city), the type of device and browser, and how visitors arrived at the site. We look at this information in aggregate only.
- Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
- We do not send your name, email address, phone number or form contents to Google Analytics.
- We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing or personalised ads.
- Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.
- Google may process this data outside Kenya. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
6. What we do not use
- No advertising or marketing cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels or embedded social feeds.
- No third-party font services: the website fonts are served from our own server.
- No selling or sharing of cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to our cookie banner, you can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may cause the site to ask for your choice on every page. Guidance is available from your browser’s help pages, for example Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
8. Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you have rights over your personal information, including the right to be informed, to access, to correct and to request deletion of your data, and to object to its processing. Full details are in section 10 of our Privacy Policy. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Where a change affects your choice, the banner will ask you again.
